The
Yadkin River between the Blue Ridge and Brushy Mountains formed
the Yadkin Valley wine-growing region. Both of these mountain
ranges are among the oldest in North America and have weathered
beautifully with time. Throughout the Yadkin Valley, Mother Nature
gives us some of her most scenic gifts. Autumn brings foliage
that is spectacular to behold and in winter we have a beautiful
view of snow-capped mountains. Spring arrives with a backdrop
of Rhododendron and Mountain Laurel, then summer follows with
wildflowers blooming at every turn.
Nestled in the heart of this region is Laurel Gray Vineyards.
At 1,100 feet elevation, full sun exposure, and cooling northwest
winds we produce a quality line of wines that depict the true
flavor of the Yadkin Valley. Laurel Gray Vineyards is owned and
operated by Benny and Kim Myers. Benny is the businessman and
farmer while Kim is the artist. To create the perfect wine requires
the qualities of both. Working side-by-side we have pursued our
dream of keeping the family farm intact for future generations.
Our name comes from our two children, Ashley Laurel and Taylor
Gray. When searching for a name for our vineyards we explored
many options and realized that by combining the middle names of
both children we had the perfect name. “Laurel Gray “
depicts southern hospitality with a touch of elegance, just the
image that we work hard to maintain.
Laurel Gray Vineyards sits on an 84 acre family farm, consisting
of 15 acres dedicated to beautiful vineyards, 70 Jackson-Perkins
roses, a 75-year old milking parlor converted into our tasting
room-gift shop, a picturesque farm pond, and a big red barn.
We invite you to visit our vineyards and farm. Come taste our
wines, picnic by the pond, relax in the front porch glider while
watching for wildlife, and become new friends.
